Welcoming Spring

It’s finally spring time! Once the clocks go forward, it will start getting lighter and hopefully, we’ll feel a bit more motivated to get going, this spring, I want to set myself up for the rest of the year! So I wanted to share with you some tips on decluttering, my favourites fragrances, new beauty releases and a few outfits I’m loving for the warmer weather.

When the seasons change, I love to start using a new or different fragrance. This spring, I’m really feeling the L’Occitane fragrances. As the months get warmer, I’ll be wearing their Roses et Reines Eau de Toilette, a fresh perfume with notes of Bergamot and Rose.

Floral perfumes are my favourite, but I love the woodiness of bergamot and sometimes sandalwood. I like to change my perfume up regularly so I have different scents for different occasions (anyone else do this?).

I won’t be spring cleaning in the house-cleaning sense, but instead, I will be having a declutter of my technology and the things which hold me back from achieving more.

I plan to delete, unsubscribe and sort out my emails, clear out Instagram accounts I’m not enjoying, take the plunge and click ‘unfriend’ from a few people I don’t need to share my life with on facebook anymore. I will shred and recycle old payslips and paperwork (I still have my old house contract lurking next to my printer!). I find that when I clear out the less physical things like emails, old contacts and ‘acquaintances’ online, I have a clearer and more focused headspace.

The more physical side of decluttering for me is going to be running a few bin bags full of old clothes that I don’t wear anymore, but I don’t plan on purging all my belongings just yet. Just a bit of ‘mental dusting’ and picking up, say, ten to fifteen things lying around my house that I just don’t need or want anymore.

Outfit inspiration

I’m so excited that it is warming up and I can finally show off my outfits without hiding underneath my massive marshmallow puffer jacket! Here are a few of the outfits I’ve been drooling over whilst I leave them in my basket on ASOS..

This spring is also the first spring that I feel confident enough to wear whatever the hell I want, so check out my blog post here about this!

Beauty releases

Make Up Revolution’s new Fast Base Foundation Stick – I bought this foundation a week ago so I’ve only worn it a handful of times, however my first impressions are extremely positive. It was only £5, yes a FIVER, and it has brilliant coverage and blends like a dream. The only thing I would say is that it doesn’t have that much product in it, say in comparison to other foundation sticks, but for £5 I don’t really think I should be complaining.

Bondi Sands 1 Hour Express tan – The self tan that has probably taken over your Insta feed, this tan develops in an hour (no more lingering around the house smelling over biscuits for 8 hours or staining your bedsheets). I’m yet to purchase this but it is definitely on my list for the warmer months because I am pasty and need a bit more of a glow!

Lancome’s Monsieur Big Lash  – So this isn’t strictly a new release but I’m a bit behind in the beauty world at the moment. I love this mascara from Lancome, definitely give it a try if you’re looking for a new high end mascara.

Tom Ford’s Matte Lipstick in the shade ‘first time’  – The perfect everyday, matte lipstick. I love it.
