Valentine’s Day Ideas

Bored with flowers and chocolates? I’m kidding, how could anyone get bored of flowers and chocolates! Well, if you wanted to mix it up this year and get your other half something a bit different, I’ve got some ideas for you.

LoveDrop Subscription Box*

£45 every 2 months (But £40 when you use code VDAY40)

Subscription boxes have boomed in subsequent years, and now they’re evolving from beauty and food boxes.. into lingerie and sex toys? The ‘date-night’ subscription box provides a designer sex toy, date night gifts, to compliment your cosy night in, activities, games & sexy ideas and samples to try out together. I was kindly gifted one of these from their very friendly founders and I would absolutely recommend it as a gift for your other half. A date night that arrives at your doorstep is a perfect surprise that will keep giving throughout the year.img_0011img_0001

The Diamond Store do beautiful initial necklaces, I’m in love with mine and even if you wanted to do a Troy Bolton thing and get your other half’s initial, that would still be super cute! They are stunning quality and so subtle, yet sparkly.

Cheap Date Ideas

What about visiting your local zoo or aquarium? There are normally 2-4-1 offers on! (Pic of my *uni* girlfriend at an aquarium we visited a few weeks ago)

Having been at uni the past 3 years, I have got pretty good at finding free/cheap things to do. Museums are my favourite free thing to do, we have one in our uni town and they’ve got a replica of the Bayeux Tapestry (I’m nerding out, sorry). Another good idea – although a bit weather dependent – is a picnic.

Alternatively, if it’s raining, find a recipe you both want to learn to make and struggle through it together. As romantic as this sounds, I’m not very good at it because I’m extremely bossy and like to be in control of my cooking (and so is my boyfriend so we won’t be doing this on Valentine’s Day because we’d squabble). Even just get out of the house and go for a walk or a hike.

Whatever you’re doing on Valentine’s Day, just make sure you’re surrounded by people you love (whether you’re in a relationship or not!) – and ensure you make the most of discounted chocolate from the 15th onwards..
