Top 5 disappointing products

I thought I’d share with you some of the makeup products I bought that did not live up to my expectations – I didn’t realise until I wrote this post that mostly it’s products from Benefit, which is bizarre because I have a lot of Benefit products I love!

 Urban Decay All Nighter foundation

I was so excited when this foundation came out, because (as you’ll know if you’ve read my blog before) I love UD’s Naked Foundation, it’s my favourite. So a long lasting, clubbing version of this product sounded amazing. Wrong. It went patchy almost immediately, it didn’t blend with my skin at all, it’s started to separate with any powder on top of it and it stuck to any dry patches I had on my face. Such a shame.

Ciaté fierce flicks felt liner

I received this in a BirchBox and was looking forward to trying it, however, it wasn’t easy to use because the nib was really stiff and the formula actually made my eyes water a little bit – not a good trait of an eyeliner.

Benefit’s Fine One One

17836636_10212061636953357_633490820_oLoved the idea of this cream cheek and lip colour but in practice, it didn’t work for me at all. It didn’t last very long on my skin.

Benefit’s Hello Flawless powder

17820633_10212061637313366_1109421960_oFelt cakey on my skin and I hate it when you know you’re wearing makeup, it was too thick and made my skin feel funny. I also had the lightest shade, and even that was a little bit too orangey for my skin.

Benefit They’re Real Eyeliner

17838700_10212061636433344_1234091306_oAnother product I couldn’t wait to try out since I love eyeliner. The Benefit staff demonstrated it for me and I had great flicks, but they forgot to mention you had to buy the special remover. So I forked out £16 on an eyeliner that I couldn’t remove without forceful scrubbing until I spend another £13 on an eye makeup remover especially for this eyeliner which also promised to ‘condition eyelashes’. This, to me, seemed a bit of a scam, but also the eyeliner seemed to dry up really quickly. The gel eyeliner wasn’t the right consistency and made it really difficult to get a smooth line because the product was quite tough. I also found that to get it working I had to waste a lot of product by wiping it on a tissue to get the applicator clean.

Which products have you not got along with? Do you have any you regret buying? Let me know in the comments. Apologies for the rant!
