As someone who has a bit of a matte lipstick obsession, when I found out smashbox had apparently created a means of turning ANY lipstick into a matte one, I was very excited.
I immediately went out and bought it, and I have not looked back. Although it might be a bit of a gimmick, it is great if you love a particular shade of lipstick and want it in both a satin and a matte. It could potentially save you money instead of buying multiples of the same shade (however if you’re interested in make up enough to read this, I’m sure like me, you have multiple lipsticks of the same shade!)
I have demonstrated the Insta-Matte with a pretty satin pink lipstick I have from Revlon.
I applied the ‘lipstick transformer’ with my finger and just smoothed it over the top of my lipstick, which created a creamy matte formula in seconds and changed the look entirely.
It is quite expensive at £18 for a tube, and I wonder how long it would last if you were to use it really often, but just like Smashbox claim, it does double your lipstick wardrobe and gives you plenty of new looks for your satin and sheen lipsticks.
Do you think you would use the Insta-Matte? Have you tried it? Let me know what you think!
